Hello Shagya Arabian Friends, March 2020
2020 has started out as a great year to ride! The AERC provides many opportunities to get involved and ride your horse in endurance rides across the country. If you and your Shagya horse-partner are looking for a less racy pace then many state and national parks offer trails to be explored. I encourage everyone to find time to enjoy your Shagya Arabian this year.
Our National Membership meeting will be held via teleconference on Friday night March 20th, 2020 at 8 pm eastern. We hope many of you will join us. (see side bar this page for call-in number). This is our election year, we have a number of members nominated for positions. Their terms will be from 2020 to 2023. Many of the folks you know from previous Board of Director positions. All of them have volunteered for the ASAV in different capacities producing great outcomes.
The ASAV wishes to thank past BOD members for their service and wonderful work for the past three years. We are successful because of you!
The NMM agenda will be posted below for our members to look over. If there is any other item that needs to be addressed, added or nominations made for elections, please contact me at ASAV@Bellsouth.net. We will be happy to add any other topics or announcement. Nominations (by paid-2020 members & self nominations) can be made the Friday night of the meeting. Please join us Friday, March 20th, 2020 at 8 pm eastern time. Everyone is welcome to listen (voting by members only).
Results for the 2020 ASAV Election will be published in the upcoming ASAV Newsletter after the NMM and posted on the webpage. Our next edition will have a tribute to Egon Kamarasy our long time life member who passed in late 2019. He will be missed, as a great contributor in the early years of the ASAV’s founding by judging our stock at the 1st ASAV Evaluation in 2004. Egon was an ISG horse show judge who officiated in Europe, merited by his diplomatic skills and fluency in many languages. He lived to 100 and was highly respected as an avid horseman, college professor and Hungarian expat.
We are looking for articles for upcoming newsletters and currently asking everyone to send in their farm news. We have a number of new members. It would be great to hear about your Shagya Arabians. Send to ASAV@Bellsouth.net.
I have enjoyed my term as ASAV President and will continue to work on the BOD and volunteer for existing projects.
Best wishes for the coming year,
Darlene Steven, ASAV President.
